ওয়েব ডেস্ক : জঙ্গল, পাহাড়, উপত্যকা, জলাশয়, নদী, নানা ধরনের পাখি, বিভিন্ন প্রজাতির প্রাণী, নানা ধরনের বৃক্ষ ও উদ্ভিদের আবাস এবং আদিবাসীদের সরল জীবনযাত্রা প্রত্যক্ষ করতে সারান্ডার জঙ্গলে ঘুরে আসুন। এখানে দুটি যমজ শৈলশিখর প্রকৃতিকে আলিঙ্গন করে সগর্বে মাথা তুলে দাঁড়িয়ে আছে। কিরিবুরু ও মেঘাহাতাবুরু বা মেঘাহতুবুরু। ওড়িশার কেওনঝাড় জেলার মধ্যে রয়েছে কিরিবুরু। অন্যদিকে, মেঘাহাতুবুরু / মেঘাতাবুরু রয়েছে ঝাড়খণ্ডের সিংভূম জেলায়। এই দুটি শৈল শিখরের দূরত্ব মাত্র ৮ কিলোমিটার। আঞ্চলিক ভাষায় “কিরি”কথার অর্থ হাতি। যদিও অনেকে মনে করেন পোকা। আর “বুরু” কথার অর্থ পাহাড়। একটির মানে হাতিদের পাহাড়। কারণ, এখানে অসংখ্য হাতি আছে। আর মেঘহাতাবুরুর অর্থ মেঘেদের পাহাড়। কারণ, এটি বেশিরভাগ সময় মেঘে ঢাকা থাকে।
এই দুটি পাহাড়ের সঙ্গেই জড়িয়ে আছে ওড়িশা ও ঝাড়খন্ড সীমান্তে অবস্থিত এশিয়ার বৃহত্তম শাল গাছের জঙ্গল– সারান্ডা ফরেস্ট। স্থানীয়দের কথায়, সারান্ডা কথার অর্থ ৭০০ পাহাড়ের দেশ। ২৯৫০ ফুট উচ্চতায় থাকা এই জঙ্গল শাল, পিয়াল, জারুল ও আমলা গাছে পরিপূর্ণ। এছাড়াও এই জঙ্গলের কেন্দ্রে ৫৫০ মিটার উচ্চতায় ১১টি প্রজাতি-সহ বিভিন্ন ধরনের অর্কিড দেখা যায়। পাশাপাশি সারান্ডায় ২৮টি প্রজাতির স্তন্যপায়ী প্রাণী, ৬০টি প্রজাতির পাখি, ২০টি প্রজাতির সরীসৃপ, ৮টি প্রজাতির উভচর ও ৬৩টি প্রজাতির প্রজাপতিও রয়েছে। কোয়েল, করো, কৈনা, লাইলোর, তেঁত্রি, সামতা, কালিয়া এবং পিটিদিরি নদী রয়েছে এই জঙ্গলে। রয়েছে বিস্তৃত জলাশয়। সারান্ডায় বসবাস করেন হো, মুন্ডা, ওরাওঁ, সাঁওতাল-সহ উপজাতি সম্প্রদায়ের বিপুলসংখ্যক মানুষ। জঙ্গল থেকে মধু, মাশরুম, মহুয়া ফুল ও বীজ, শাল পাতা, শিয়াল পাতা, ঔষধি গাছ, জ্বালানি কাঠ-সহ বিভিন্ন বনজ দ্রব্য সংগ্রহ করে তাঁরা জীবিকা নির্বাহ করেন।
সারান্ডার জঙ্গলকে কেউ কেউ সবচেয়ে উপেক্ষিত ও অনাবিষ্কৃত পর্যটনকেন্দ্রগুলির মধ্যে অন্যতমও বলেন। তাই এই জঙ্গলকেই ভ্রমণ তালিকায় যুক্ত করুন।
দেখুন, বোলানি ফরেস্ট, কারো নদী, ঝিংরি বা ঝিকিরা জলপ্রপাত, বোলানি আয়রন মাইন্স (অনুমতি নিতে হবে), পুণ্ডুল জলপ্রপাত, মুর্গা মহাদেব মন্দির, স্বপ্নেশ বাবার মন্দির।পাশাপাশি কিরিবুরুতে সূর্যোদয় দেখুন। রেঞ্জার অফিস থেকে অনুমতি নিয়ে থলকোবাদ কুমডি ফরেস্ট (সারান্ডা ফরেস্ট) ট্রিপ করুন। মেঘাতাবুরু সানসেট পয়েন্টে সূর্যাস্ত দেখতে ভুলবেন না।
কিভাবে যাবেন?
সড়কপথে চাইবাসা থেকে প্রায় ৮০ কিলোমিটার দূরে সারান্ডা ফরেস্ট। চাইবাসা, রাঁচি ও জামশেদপুর থেকে বাস পাওয়া যায়। রেলপথে – রাউরকেল্লা স্টেশন থেকে ৬০ কিমি।
জামশেদপুর থেকে ১৭০ কিমি। সারান্ডার নিকটতম রেলস্টেশন হলো বড় জামাদা, বারবিল বা মনোহরপুর। এইসব রেলস্টেশনের সঙ্গে রেলপথে জামশেদপুর ও রাউরকেল্লার সুন্দর যোগাযোগ রয়েছে।
সঙ্গে কি নেবেন?
একটি ক্যামেরা, দূরবীন, জলের বোতল, নভেম্বর থেকে জানুয়ারির মধ্যে ঠান্ডার সময়ে পর্যাপ্ত গরম পোশাক, একটি টর্চ বা সৌর চার্জযোগ্য আলো, বর্ষাকালে রেইনকোট ও ছাতা, ছোটখাটো অসুস্থতার জন্য প্রাথমিক চিকিৎসার মতো ওষুধ। অবশ্যই চোখ-কান খোলা রেখে জঙ্গলে ঘুরুন। একথা কোনও কারণেই ভুলবেন না।

কিরিবুরু, থলকোবাদ, বড়াইবুরু, মনোহরপুর, জরাইকেলা ও চাইবাসায় থাকার জায়গা পাবেন।

Web Desk : Visit the jungles of Saranda to witness forests, mountains, valleys, water bodies, rivers, different types of birds, different species of animals, habitats of different types of trees and plants and the simple lifestyle of the tribals. Here two twin peaks stand proudly embracing nature. Kiriburu and Meghahataburu or Meghatuburu. Kiriburu is located in Keonjhar district of Odisha. On the other hand, Meghahatuburu / Meghataburu is in Singhbhum district of Jharkhand. The distance between these two rock peaks is only 8 km. The word “kiri” in the local language means elephant. Although many people think insects. And the word “Buru” means mountain. One means hill of elephants. Because there are many elephants here. And Meghataburu means mountain of clouds. Because, it is covered with clouds most of the time.
Associated with these two mountains is Saranda Forest, the largest sal tree forest in Asia located on the border of Odisha and Jharkhand. According to locals, the word Saranda means the land of 700 hills. At an altitude of 2950 feet, this forest is full of Sal, Pial, Jarul and Amla trees. There are also 11 species of orchids in the center of this forest at an altitude of 550 meters. Saranda also has 28 species of mammals, 60 species of birds, 20 species of reptiles, 8 species of amphibians and 63 species of butterflies. Koel, Karo, Kaina, Lailor, Tentri, Samta, Kalia and Pitidiri rivers are in this forest. There are extensive water bodies. Saranda is home to a large number of tribal communities including Ho, Munda, Oraon, Santal. They earn their livelihood by collecting various forest products including honey, mushrooms, mahua flowers and seeds, sal leaves, foxtail leaves, medicinal plants, firewood from the forest.
Saranda Jungle is also called by some as one of the most neglected and undiscovered tourist destinations. So add this forest to your travel list.
See Bolani Forest, Karo River, Jhingri or Jhikira Falls, Bolani Iron Mines (permission required), Pundul Falls, Murga Mahadev Temple, Swapnesh Baba Temple. Also watch the sunrise at Kiriburu. Take a trip to Thalkobad Kumdi Forest (Saranda Forest) with permission from the ranger office. Don’t forget to watch the sunset at Meghataburu Sunset Point.
How to go?
Saranda Forest is about 80 km away from Chaibasa by road. Buses are available from Chaibasa, Ranchi and Jamshedpur. By Rail – 60 km from Rourkella station.
170 km from Jamshedpur. The nearest railway stations to Saranda are Bara Jamada, Barbil or Manoharpur. Jamshedpur and Rourkella are well connected by rail with these railway stations.
What to take with?
A camera, binoculars, water bottle, enough warm clothing during cold weather between November to January, a torch or solar rechargeable light, raincoat and umbrella during monsoons, first aid medicines for minor ailments. Be sure to walk in the forest with your eyes and ears open. Do not forget this for any reason.
