ওয়েব ডেস্ক : দেশের জনগণের জন্য কাজ করছে সশস্ত্র সীমা বল (এসএসবি)।বললেন এসএসবির সিক্সটি থার্ড ব্যাটেলিয়নের কমাড্যান্ট অশোক বিশ্বাস। দেশের সীমান্ত লাগোয়া পর্যটন এলাকায় পর্যটকরা কোনও সমস্যায় পড়লে এসএসবির সাহায্য পাবেন কিনা জানতে চাওয়া হলে তিনি বলেন, এসএসবি জওয়ানরা যেখানে মোতায়েন আছে, সেখানে দেশের জনতা কোনও বিপদে পড়লে তাদের জন্য কাজ করে এসএসবি। প্রাকৃতিক বিপর্যয়, দুর্ঘটনা-সহ যেকোনও বিপদের মুখে দেশের জনতা পড়লে তাদের সহায়তার লক্ষ্যে এসএসবি কাজ করে।এছাড়াও সীমান্ত এলাকায় যুবক-যুবতীদের স্বনির্ভর করার লক্ষ্যে বিভিন্ন ধরনের প্রশিক্ষণ শিবির এবং স্বাস্থ্য শিবির-সহ নানা ধরনের কাজ করে এসএসবি। বুধবার এসএসবির সিক্সটি থার্ড ব্যাটেলিয়নের উদ্যোগে আয়োজিত ৬০তম প্রতিষ্ঠা দিবস বা হীরক জয়ন্তী উদযাপন অনুষ্ঠানে সাংবাদিকদের সামনে একথা বলেন অশোক বিশ্বাস।উত্তর ২৪ পরগনা জেলার আমডাঙ্গার সাধনপুরে এসএসবির বারাসত কর্পস হেডকোয়ার্টারে এদিন প্রবল উৎসাহে উদযাপিত হয় হীরক জয়ন্তী।উপস্থিত ছিলেন অবসরপ্রাপ্ত মহাপরিদর্শক শ্রীকুমার বদোপাধ্যায়, অবসরপ্রাপ্ত উপ-মহাপরিদর্শক একে নাথ, অন্যান্য অবসরপ্রাপ্ত কর্মী, আধিকারিক, জওয়ান ও তাদের পরিবার-পরিজন। এদিন প্যারেড কমান্ডার সাব ইন্সপেক্টর জেনারেল বিশাল কুমারের নেতৃত্বে কমান্ড্যান্ট অশোক বিশ্বাসকে প্রথম গার্ড অব অনার দেওয়া হয়। এরপর অনুষ্ঠিত হয় মার্চ পাস্ট কুচকাওয়াজ, ডগ শো, ভলিবল, ক্রিকেট, ফুটবল, ওয়াটার পোলো, ১০০ মিটার দৌড়, টাগ অফ ওয়ার, অবসরপ্রাপ্ত কর্মীদের ওয়াকথন, বস্তা দৌড়, মিউজিক্যাল চেয়ার দৌড়, চপ্পল দৌড়, শিশুদের জালেবি দৌড়-সহ বিভিন্ন ক্রীড়া প্রতিযোগিতা এবং সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠান।
