ওয়েব ডেস্ক : পাখি সংরক্ষণ উৎসব দেখতে চলুন অসমের কাজিরাঙ্গায়। আগামী ৯ ও ১০ জানুয়ারি কাজিরাঙ্গা ন্যাশনাল পার্কে অনুষ্ঠিত হবে কাজিরাঙ্গা পাখি সংরক্ষণ উৎসব। কাজিরাঙ্গা ন্যাশনাল পার্ক এবং বোম্বে ন্যাচারাল হিস্ট্রি সোসাইটি (বিএনএইচএস)-এর মধ্যে যৌথ উদ্যোগে আয়োজিত এই উৎসবের অন্যতম অঙ্গ হিসেবে থাকবে পঞ্চম ওয়াটারবার্ড বার্ড সেনসাস বা জল-পাখি গণনাও। কাজিরাঙ্গা ন্যাশনাল পার্ক বা কাজিরাঙ্গা জাতীয় উদ্যানে বসবাসকারী বৈচিত্র্যময় প্রজাতির পাখিদের সুরক্ষার জন্য এই উৎসব উদযাপনে পাখি সম্পর্কে উৎসাহী, প্রকৃতিপ্রেমী, কলেজ ছাত্র এবং নাগরিক সমাজের সদস্যদের এই অনুষ্ঠানে সক্রিয়ভাবে অংশগ্রহণ করার জন্য আমন্ত্রণ জানানো হয়েছে। সূত্রের খবর, এই উৎসবে বিশিষ্ট ব্যক্তিত্ব, সংরক্ষণবাদী এবং বন্যপ্রাণী বিশেষজ্ঞদের উপস্থিতি দেখা যাবে এবং কাজিরাঙ্গার পাখি ও প্রাণীর প্রাচুর্যকে তুলে ধরে লাইভ সেশন, ওয়েবিনার এবং একটি ফটোগ্রাফি প্রতিযোগিতাও সংগঠিত করা হবে। এবার এই উৎসবের থিম হলো ‘নাগরিক বিজ্ঞান ব্যবহার করে পাখি সংরক্ষণ’৷ এর লক্ষ্য নাগরিকদের সচেতন করে পাখির জনসংখ্যা পর্যবেক্ষণ ও সংরক্ষণে সক্রিয়ভাবে অংশ নিতে অনুপ্রাণিত করা।
প্রসঙ্গত, ২০১৮-১৯ থেকে ২০২১-২২ পর্যন্ত পরপর চারটি জল-পাখি সমীক্ষা পরিচালনা করেছে কাজিরাঙ্গা ন্যাশনাল পার্ক এবং টাইগার রিজার্ভ । আবাসিক এবং পরিযায়ী উভয় জলের পাখির পর্যাপ্ত উপস্থিতি এই সমীক্ষায় প্রকাশ পেয়েছে। ২০২১-২২ সালের সাম্প্রতিক সমীক্ষায় কাজিরাঙ্গা জাতীয় উদ্যান এবং টাইগার রিজার্ভের ৫২টি জলাভূমিতে বিস্তৃত ১২২টি প্রজাতির ৯৩,৪৯১টি জল-পাখির একটি চিত্তাকর্ষক গণনা নথিভুক্ত করেছে। এটি ২০২০ সালের গণনা থেকে উল্লেখযোগ্য বৃদ্ধি পেয়েছে। ওইবছর পাখির সংখ্যা রেকর্ড করা হয় ৩৪,২৮৪টি এবং ২০১৮ সালের গণনায় এই সংখ্যা ছিল ১০,৪১২টি। উল্লেখ্য, কাজিরাঙ্গা ন্যাশনাল পার্ক এবং টাইগার রিজার্ভ জল-পাখির জনসংখ্যার জন্য বিশেষভাবে বিখ্যাত, বিশেষ করে বার-হেডেড হংস-এর জন্য বিখ্যাত। ফলে আর দেরি করবেন না। এখনই সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়ে ফেলুন। চলুন অসমের কাজিরাঙ্গা ন্যাশনাল পার্কে।

A recent survey of 2021-22 recorded an impressive count of 93,491 waterbirds of 122 species spread across 52 wetlands in Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve. This is a significant increase from the 2020 count. The number of birds recorded that year was 34,284 and the 2018 count was 10,412.
