ওয়েব ডেস্ক : শীতের আমেজ গায়ে মেখে পাখিদের স্বর্গ গজলডোবা থেকে ঘুরে আসুন। কপাল ভালো থাকলে ওখান থেকেই কাঞ্চনজঙ্ঘার অপরুপ সৌন্দর্য উপভোগ করতে পারবেন। হিমালয়ের পাদদেশে জলপাইগুড়ি জেলার উডলাবাড়ি অঞ্চলের একটি ছোট্ট গ্রাম গজলডোবা। উত্তরবঙ্গের এই গ্রাম এখন পর্যটকদের কাছে খুবই জনপ্রিয় হয়ে উঠেছে। শীতের ছুটিতে ঘুরে আসার জন্য অনেকেই বেছে নিচ্ছেন গজলডোবাকে। কারণ, প্রতিবছর শীতের সময়ে অগণিত পরিযায়ী পাখির সমাগম হয় গজলডোবায়। সামনে হিমালয়, তার নীচে নীল জলাধার এমনই প্রাকৃতিক সৌন্দর্যে ভরপুর গজলডোবা। এই গ্রামের পশ্চিমে মহানন্দা আর পূর্বে তিস্তা। চাষবাসের জন্য তিস্তার উপর বাঁধ দেওয়া হয়েছে এবং সেখান থেকে এই গজলডোবায় নীল জলাধার তৈরি হয়েছে। এখানে তিস্তা খুব শান্ত।
এই গজলডোবার জলাধারেই প্রতি বছর শীতের মরশুমে পরিযায়ী পাখিরা ভিড় করে। এখানে এই সময়ে লিটল গ্রেব, গ্রেট ক্রেস্টেড গ্রেব, বার-হেডেড হংস, গ্রেলাগ গুজ, লেসার হুইসলিং হাঁস, রুড্ডি শেলডাক, কমন শেলডাক, কটন টিল, টাফটেড ডাক, ইউরোসিয়ান উইগইওন, স্পট বিলড ডাক, মাল্লার্ড, গ্রেট কর্মোরান্ট, ইন্ডিয়ান কর্মোরান্ট, লিটল কর্মোরান্ট, ইন্ডিয়ান পন্ড হেরন, গ্রে হেরন,পার্পেল হেরন, নর্দান ল্যাপউইং, রিভার ল্যাপউইং, গ্রে-হেডেড ল্যাপউইং, লিটল রিংড প্লোভার পাখি দেখা যায়। আর তা দেখতেই মূলত ভিড় করেন পর্যটকেরা। এখানে নৌকবিহারও বেশ জনপ্রিয়। তিস্তা নদীর উপর সেচের উদ্দেশ্যে তৈরি বাঁধের জন্য পর্যটকদের কাছে বিখ্যাত গজলডোবা। তিস্তা ও মহানন্দা নদী দিয়ে ঘেরা বৈকুন্ঠপুর ঘন অরণ্য সংলগ্ন গজলডোবা তার অপার প্রাকৃতিক সৌন্দর্য দিয়ে তাই সহজেই পর্যটকদের হৃদয় কেড়ে নিয়েছে। বৈকুণ্ঠপুর অরণ্য নিয়ে একটি পৌরাণিক কাহিনীও রয়েছে। সেটা হলো ভগবান শ্রীকৃষ্ণের প্রধান স্ত্রী এবং রানী রুকমণি লুকানোর জন্য বৈকুণ্ঠপুর অরণ্যকে বেছে নিয়েছিলেন।
তিস্তা জলাধার ছাড়াও মনোরম আবহাওয়ার কারণে গজলডোবা আপনার ভালো লাগবেই। আকাশ পরিষ্কার থাকলে আর কপাল ভালো থাকলে গজলডোবা থেকে কাঞ্চনজঙ্ঘারও দেখা পাওয়া যায়। শান্ত পরিবেশে দু’দিন ছুটি কাটানোর জন্য আপনি অনায়াসে গজলডোবাকে বেছে নিতে পারেন। গজলডোবা থেকে গরুমারা জাতীয় উদ্যান খুব কাছে। মাত্র ২৬ কিলোমিটারের পথ। ফলে সেখান থেকেও খুব সহজেই ঘুরে আসতে পারেন। গজলডোবার চারপাশের প্রাণবন্ত প্রাকৃতিক সৌন্দর্য সারা বছরই উপভোগ করা যায়। তবে পরিযায়ী পাখি দেখার সাধ থাকলে আপনাকে নভেম্বরের মাঝামাঝি থেকে জানুয়ারি মাসের মধ্যে গজলডোবায় যেতে হবে।
এরমধ্যেই গজলডোবায় ২০০ একর জায়গা নিয়ে একটি পর্যটন কেন্দ্র গড়ে উঠেছে। রাজ্য পর্যটন দফতর আগামী দিনে গজলডোবাকে উত্তরবঙ্গের অন্যতম পর্যটন কেন্দ্র গড়ে তুলতে এমনই নানা পদক্ষেপ করতে চলেছে। যার ফলে থাকার জায়গার খুব একটা অভাব হবে না এখানে।
গজলডোবা যাওয়ার সেরা সময় হল শীতকাল। নভেম্বর থেকে মার্চের মধ্যে গজলডোবা যেতে পারেন। তবে পরিযায়ী পাখির সমাগম দেখতে হলে নভেম্বর থেকে জানুয়ারির মধ্যে যাওয়া ভালো। নিউ জলপাইগুড়ি স্টেশনে নেমে গাড়ি ভাড়া করে গজলডোবা যেতে পারেন। আবার মালবাজার স্টেশনে নেমে সেখান থেকেও যাওয়া যায়। খুব বেশি সময় লাগে না। বাগডোগরা থেকেও যেতে পারেন গজলডোবা।
